The vertical grid, in contrast to the horizontal grid underneath, allows its own transformation by absorbing any irregularities. It is expressed in the facade as horizontal layers representing the three segments of the hotel. In the foreground the sloping park exposes the intricacies of the intersection of the athletic and bathing facility with the preexisting train tunnels and station.
