The ground plane interacts with the housing by maintaining a physical continuity that is not always confined to the horizontal (as in a traditional hotel). The public program derives from quotidian needs absent from the resort, including a printing press, shoe repair, etc. The shops are housed in kiosks evenly distributed about the site. In turn, each of the kiosks is assigned an hour of the clock, making the site a marker of time. Each node, in effect, represents both a place and a passing moment.
